St Martin's School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Leader of English to join the Arts Faculty from April 2026.
The Governors and Headteacher are looking to recruit a well-qualified, energetic and innovative individual to join a strong and highly effective team of practitioners.
The Leader of English will work closely with the Head of Faculty and Leader of Teaching and Learning to help develop innovative practice in teaching and learning and further develop the languages curriculum so that it is fit for the future.
The ideal candidate will:

- Have an inclusive approach and believe that every child can enjoy and succeed in the study of languages;
- Be ambitious and competitive in the desire to raise standards across all key stages.
- Have excellent subject knowledge and depth of understanding, and be able to inspire, enthuse and motivate students to ensure that they achieve their full potential.
We are an ambitious secondary school, situated on the outskirts of Caerphilly (a short drive from Cardiff, Newport and the M4). Caerphilly train and bus station is located a 5 minute walk from the school.
Salary: MPS/UPS plus TLR £8,088
Teaching allocation 35 hours
