PURPOSE The principal purpose of the Network Specialist is to provide persistent support of the networked ecosystem of PayInc and provide consultancy support associated to the networked environment to PayInc clients. You will engage with the following stakeholders: External clients Banks (South African and International) SARB and other Government related entities Vendors Internal clients Exco Manco Testing Department Project office CNP Dev Department RealtimeSwitch Department Infrastructure Department Database Department EUC Support Security & Risk Department Human Capital Legal Department Architecture Department Operations Change Management Incident Management Cloud Infrastructure Department Your key responsibilities include: Network Architecture Design vs. operation functionality Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure(ACI) Cisco Software defined networking(SDN) Container (micro-services) networking Cloud networking Network Configuration & Support (Firewalls, Switches, Routers, WAN, LAN, Spanning Tree, Protocols, IPS, Proxies, Load Balancers, Web Application Firewalls, Access control, VPN, Logging, Monitoring, Capacity Planning, System hardening techniques, Compression, Voice Recording mediums, Sniffer technologies, PEN Testing, Video Conferencing, Voice) Networked support (All devices that connect to a network and how they influence the network and how the network influences them.) Alignment to PCI requirements Ability to understand and apply security principles across the network Understanding, aligning and executing against divisional business strategy In-depth understanding of Networking products Change control Incident and Risk management Project management Understanding of system integration Cross technology integration QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE Appropriate certification, diploma and/or degree in Information Technology Certification in networking will be advantage – CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Knowledge of the Financial/Cloud Ecosystem advantageous EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field. Experience in networking technologies, preferably cross platforms, i.e. software defined networking, container networking, cloud networking, security, routing and switching, load balancers, web application firewalls, voice, storage. SKILLS Excellent Technical and Non-Technical communication skills The ability to work in a team and to be part of a team Good reasoning and decision-making skills The ability to work under extreme pressure Experience in cloud computing - Deploys, debugs, and executes initiatives related to cloud computing Cross vendor experience required
