Nuclear Safety Case Engineer Must be a sole British national and eligible for SC clearance due to project requirements Permanent | Remote working (2 days a quarter in Cumbria) | £60,000 (DOE) Copello are working with a leading defence and engineering organisation to recruit a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to join a long-term programme at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear sector. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in high-integrity, regulated environments and wants to take real ownership of key safety deliverables. You’ll be part of a team that directly supports the development and ongoing assurance of nuclear safety cases — working closely with Engineering, Human Factors and Site Safety teams to keep standards high and the plant safe. What you’ll be doing: Writing and reviewing nuclear substantiation and safety case documentation Supporting periodic reviews and safety case implementation Leading on your own deliverables and contributing to the wider team’s development Engaging with stakeholders across technical and operational functions Reviewing analysis, calculations and other supporting evidence for safety justifications What we’re looking for: Background in nuclear safety, safety case development, or substantiation work Experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, defence, etc.) Confident producing well-structured technical reports Comfortable collaborating with engineering and assurance teams Degree-qualified in a STEM subject To apply, please send your CV to aaron@copello.co.uk
