Job summary
Two part-time roles available: 1 x 22.2 hours per week and 1 x 29.6 hours per week. Working pattern: Part-time, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working considered. Days are flexible except Tuesdays (team meeting day). Location: Glebelands, Shoreham-by-Sea with countywide coverage. Salary (pro-rata): 22.2 hours £35,994 to £38,046 per annum; 29.6 hours £47,992 to £50,728 per annum. FTE Equivalent Salary: Hay B £59,991 to £63,411 per annum. Contract Type: Permanent. Interviews: Scheduled for 06 and 08 October 2025.
About the service
The Attach Service delivers psychological support into our Children We Care For, Care Leavers, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking and Special Guardianship teams, and includes support to Residential and Fostering services and two specialist projects. The Attach team provides evidence-informed support to children in care and to professionals and carers around them, helping them understand and respond to developmental trauma, disrupted attachment, and hidden emotional needs. West Sussex Fostering is implementing therapeutic parenting rooted in DDP principles and PACE culture.

Main responsibilities
As Specialist Senior Clinical Psychologists for our services, you will:
* Deliver evidence-informed, integrative, and systemic interventions.
* Work within a multidisciplinary/multiagency environment to design and implement innovative service models.
* Champion a compassionate, trauma-aware, relational approach at all levels of the system.
* Help shape the future of the Psychological Services Hub, contributing to its growth and impact.
What we’re looking for
Experience (Essential)
* Qualified clinical psychologist with post-qualification experience working with children and families with complex needs, including psychological assessment, formulation, and delivery of therapy to children and young people.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience identifying and addressing barriers to inclusion and challenging oppressive or disrespectful practices.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with deep knowledge of lifespan development, clinical psychometrics, and related areas.
Additional experience (Essential)
* Post-qualification experience undertaking assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and their families; understanding of care-experienced children and those in foster, special guardianship, or residential placements; experience with developmental trauma and therapeutic parenting; ability to contribute to multi-agency networks.
* Desirable: Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and PACE-based interventions, including training delivery.
* Extensive experience providing consultations to professionals and developing therapeutic offers for the wider social care workforce.
* Clinical supervision skills and ability to communicate and present information accessibly; ability to present data in accessible formats; knowledge of relevant legislation; strong time management.
