Production Engineer
Salary: £38,000
An established UK-based engineering manufacturer is seeking a Production Engineer to strengthen its growing team. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you’ll be responsible for improving machining processes, driving efficiency on the shop floor, and supporting continuous development across production.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM software
Work closely with machinists and suppliers to optimise tooling and machining methods
Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions to support production flow
Review and improve component routings and manufacturing methods
Support training initiatives, including machine setups and apprentice development
Assess and coordinate machining subcontractors in terms of quality and capability
Contribute to layout planning, equipment maintenance schedules, and risk assessments
Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
Provide machine cover when necessary to ensure production continuity
Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve production issues

Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively within a team
Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong focus on health & safety
Awareness of ISO9001:2015 standards is desirable
