Salary: £39,718 - £46,569 per annum
About the Role
This position involves overseeing capital accounting functions to ensure compliance with relevant standards and supporting financial planning processes. The successful candidate will lead on preparing and monitoring the capital budget, manage collection fund accounting for business rates and council tax, and ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts.
The role requires strong experience in capital accounting, financial reporting, and budget management, as well as a thorough understanding of CIPFA standards, IFRS, and the Prudential Code.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Capital accounting and financial reporting
* Preparation and monitoring of the capital budget
* Collection fund accounting and year-end closure processes
* Advising departments on capital finance matters
* Supporting the production of the Statement of Accounts
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* A proactive approach to process improvement and financial governance
* Experience in collection fund accounting and year-end closure processes
* Excellent knowledge of CIPFA standards, IFRS, and the Prudential Code
* A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
