OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST DEVELOPMENT POST BAND 6 LEADING TO BAND 7
(Initially 15 hours per week preferred -
increasing up to 30 or 37.5 hrs during 2026)
Hospice IOM is looking for a Registered Professional to join our patient focused Rehabilitation team to assist in, and later lead, delivering OT services across Hospice, hospital and community for Hospice patients.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we wish to recruit someone who is keen to develop within Hospice and progress to the Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 7) post during 2026. Initially working alongside our Senior Occupational Therapist, the individual will gain an understanding of OT within Hospice, take over the lead of this service and work with the Rehabilitation Team to make service developments.
You will build and develop close working relationships with colleagues to deliver joint services, whilst working as a sole practitioner to manage your own caseload, working towards the best support of patients moving between services.
If you would like to be part of a fantastic team delivering compassionate and high-quality palliative care, you have a flexible approach to adapt to the changing needs of the service, and patients, then this could be the role for you
If you are interested in the long-term aspirations of this post but would find the initial hours challenging, please contact us for a discussion.
For an informal discussion please contact:
Jo Beard, Senior Occupational Therapist or
Vicky Wilson, Head of Children, Young People, Inpatient Services and Therapies
