OVERVIEW
Working as Full-Time CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components from engineering drawings. You will work with materials such as steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
* Interpret technical drawings and job packs to set up CNC machines
* Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc, Siemens controls)
* Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production
* Adjust offsets and tooling to optimize cycle times and reduce waste
* Conduct routine machine maintenance and adhere to health & safety protocols
* Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and efficiency
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
* Time-served or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
* Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (multi-axis preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings
* Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and CMM inspection.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
* Programming experience at the machine and offline (Hypermill or similar)
* Experience with Mill/Turn or 5-axis machining and tight-tolerance components
* Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
