As a Senior Payroll Assistant, your responsibilities include: End-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients, including complex and high-volume payrolls. Review and validate payroll data, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and internal quality standards. Manage client relationships with professionalism and confidence, acting as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries. Provide expert guidance on payroll legislation, statutory payments, and best practices. Support junior team members, offering mentoring and technical assistance where needed. Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Identify process improvements and contribute to the development of payroll systems and procedures. Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of RTI and other statutory filings The role is based in Dungannon, but were flexible across Northern Ireland for candidates who can travel to the office once a week. About you... As a Senior Payroll Assistant, youll need to have great interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively liaise with other departments, stakeholders and external clients, as well as the ability to oversee a team and support with the implementation of new processes and procedures. You will be organised and have incredible attention to detail, as well as Proven experience in a payroll role, ideally within a consultancy or accountancy firm. Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and pensions. Knowledge of ROI payroll Experience handling complex payrolls and resolving technical queries. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Pay Circle, Sage, Cintra). Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. About us... Weve been dubbed the rebels of accountancy.
