Our shops are lively centers cherished by our customers and supported by generous donations. Every purchase helps us continue vital work caring for over 40,000 animals annually through rehoming, veterinary, and educational programs.
As a Standby Shop Assistant, you will provide essential support to our in-store teams, ensuring smooth shop operations.
Your duties include assisting with customer service, stock management, and general shop tasks. Our shops operate Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00, and you will help maintain high standards of service and presentation. You will work alongside dedicated staff and volunteers in a flexible, impactful role.
This is a zero-hours position, with hours varying based on shop needs. We pay the Real Living Wage, currently £12.21 per hour, with a total hourly rate of £13.69 including holiday pay.

About you
We are looking for someone who:
· Has retail experience.
· Is proficient in cash handling and reconciliation.
· Has supervisory experience.
· Thrives in customer-facing roles.
· Possesses computer literacy and administrative skills.
It would also be great if you have:
· Experience managing volunteers.
