Class Teacher Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE), Whole Time Required to start 1st September 2026 Woodland Primary School is a small, two-class village school located in Woodland, County Durham. It is part of a federation of six small rural schools that make up the Durham Dales Partnership. The governors and Executive Headteachers are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and highly adaptable teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a part-time role for a 0.6 FTE teacher, who will be required to work Wednesday to Friday. In the first instance, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a mixed-age Key Stage 2 class of pupils from Year 3 to Year 6. The Role We are looking for an inspiring classroom practitioner who: Has the ability to teach a mixed-age class Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of pupils Is creative, motivated, and passionate about delivering engaging and inclusive learning experiences Can plan and deliver high-quality teaching tailored to a range of abilities and ages Key responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching across the primary curriculum to a mixed-age class. Plan and prepare engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils. Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching. Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment. Safeguard pupils in line with statutory guidance. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum and school priorities. Communicate with parents and carers to support learning and wellbeing. Engage in ongoing professional development. Meet statutory duties under the Teachers’ Standards and STPCD.
