IT Business Analyst role at Computershare UK. Location: Edinburgh, Bristol or Warsaw. You will be based in the Edinburgh, Bristol or Warsaw office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for part of your week. Role
Our IT Business Analysts work within the technology department as part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team. You will build trusted relationships with the wider department to bridge the gap between technology and the business. You will create and deliver high-quality communications, presentations, and visualisations, and represent your delivery team within the broader project and department. Engaging with stakeholders will be crucial, as you collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge, convey complex ideas, provide updates, and influence and challenge when needed.
Responsibilities
* Use a range of analysis techniques to lead and facilitate structured workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify and prioritise requirements.
* Use agile practices to stay responsive to business needs and explore innovative ways to solve problems and shape the delivery.
* Write high-quality, clear User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to form a well-organised Product Backlog that is prioritised according to business objectives, from which the development team can estimate, plan and deliver changes.
* Proactively contribute to the Business Analyst community – share ideas, embrace change, and collaborate with a network of stakeholders.
* Make and honour commitments as part of a cross-functional team; request help when needed and offer help to teammates.
* Support in strategic initiatives of the IT Business Analysts’ group and supporting more junior BAs.
* Contribute to Service Transition, assisting with a reasonable level of 2nd line support when necessary.
What you will bring
As this position sits within a technical function, you will need to have experience working in cross-functional technology and development teams, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders who are both technical and non-technical. You will be collaborative, able to discuss challenges constructively, and capable of gathering requirements and analysing complex data.
Key skills
* Experience working in a similar IT Business Analyst role within a complex environment (e.g., financial services).
* Ability to draw information from systems using SQL queries to derive analytical conclusions.
* Working knowledge of Agile software development.
* Strong collaboration and communication, building working relationships, influencing others, and good listening skills.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a high-demand environment.
* Exposure to financial systems, share plans administration, or our platform EquatePlus.
* A formal IT Business Analysis qualification, or a technical degree, would be advantageous.
