Main Role Objective: To support the smooth running of the Campus, working closely with the Facilities and Campus Managers to ensure that the buildings, facilities and services are provided and maintained to all company and legislative standards. To provide front line technical, IT, resources and facilities related support to students and staff with the focus on the provision of an exceptional student experience. This may include support at differing locations depending on the needs of the campus and business as whole. Duties and Responsibilities Specific Duties Assisting the Campus Team in the setup and maintenance of equipment for lessons, coursework, exams and special events. Ensuring all facilities and resources are clean, tidy and well maintained Acting as point of contact on site for Students and Staff requiring assistance and / or support with equipment, facilities and resources Responding to and resolving support requests in a timely manner Overseeing equipment booking systems, booking resources out to staff and students Setting up equipment for and supporting with live events, open days and other special events, including evenings and weekends as required Implementing a regular preventative maintenance schedule to ensure equipment and facilities are always in good order and fully functional Liaising with external contractors with regards to electrical, security, fire alarm maintenance and upgrade work Ensuring that building systems (alarms etc) are tested routinely across site and accurate records are maintained in line with company processes and procedures Supporting students and staff with the set up and break down of technical and specialist resources Acting as keyholder for the site, being responsible for opening / closing the building in line with shift pattern and being available out of hours to answer alarm call outs Working with the Facilities Manager to plan and upgrade facilities, including budgeting for works and appointing contractors Working with the technician team to plan and implement room upgrades and redesigns Assisting with the creation and management of inductions and user tests for specialist facilities Managing room bookings, working with the Head of Center in timetabling sessions and resources Offering support to student projects and outside events by keeping an overview of the curriculum and consulting with tutors Liaising with IT technicians and central IT team to ensure a smooth running of the IT infrastructure Skills and Experience required: The Technician will require a good operational knowledge and skills in a range of technical equipment and software used in the delivery of the center’s curriculum, including but not limited to: • Games engines including; Unity, Unreal and Blender • VR headsets, cameras and videography equipment • Adobe Creative Suite • PA & lightning systems, including working knowledge of DMX control and AV network protocols • Computer workstations and operating systems; Mac OS, ChromeOS, Windows • Music Production software; Logic Pro and Ableton Live • Music Production hardware; analogue and digital mixing desk, outboard, patch-bays, microphones, MIDI controllers, synths etc • IT management systems; JAMF, Google workspace • Acoustic and electronic instruments • Classroom AV equipment; monitors, cameras etc • Web streaming hardware and software; Black Magic ATEM vision mixers, OBS and streaming platforms • Troubleshooting and fault finding AV and IT network systems • Basic electronic maintenance; making and repairing a range of cables, replacing serviceable parts etc. • Ability to work with a range of tools and carry out basic building repairs/ maintenance General Responsibilities All employees have a general duty in law to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Ensure personal professional development is continuously updated and participate in all activities designed to improve the quality of provision for learners.
