Education Policy Support University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford We are pleased to offer this opportunity for a Senior Policy Officer to join our committed and professional policy team. Education Policy Support supports the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) in the development of education policy across the collegiate University, driven by student data insights and the management of quality assurance and enhancement. The section services Education Committee and its subcommittees, provides advice and guidance to departments, faculties and colleges, and handles certain types of student cases. The postholder will be responsible for servicing a subcommittee of Education Committee, developing and reviewing the University’s education policies, procedures and practices, and managing a student caseload. About the Role The postholder will work with a team of other senior policy officers and caseworkers, supported by data analysts and evaluation expertise, to carry out core functions of the Education Policy Support section. They will be responsible for developing, reviewing and implementing University education policies. This will involve servicing a subcommittee and working groups of Education Committee, presenting proposals at main University committees, and steering ad hoc groups to deliver particular projects. The postholder will also conduct a review of provisions for Research Masters degrees, and will work to ensure the clarity, accuracy and accessibility of education policy and guidance online. The postholder will handle sensitive and complex student dispensation and appeal cases on behalf of Education Committee, and will provide advice and guidance to administrative and academic staff across the collegiate University on all matters relating to education policy. About You The postholder will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, and to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the University’s education policy framework and governance structure. You will be able to work effectively with senior members of staff across the University, support policy implementation through clear communication, guidance and advice, and represent the section both within the University and at external events and organisations.
