CNC Miller – Mazak

A well-established precision engineering company, specialising in high-quality, low-to-medium volume components for demanding applications, is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join its shop floor team. Owing to continued growth and a strong order book, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and expanding business.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, primarily Mazak, within a cell-based manufacturing environment. The position involves producing complex components to tight tolerances for global industries including Aerospace, Defence, and general Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting, operating, and adjusting Mazak CNC milling machines
* Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and CAD data
* Manufacturing components to precise specifications and quality standards
* Carrying out basic program edits and making offset adjustments at the machine
* Conducting in-process inspection using hand-held measuring equipment
* Identifying and reporting any quality or process issues promptly
* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to health & safety procedures
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment
* Ability to work a rotating shift pattern (early and late shifts)
* Strong experience operating Mazak machinery
* Competence in reading and working from complex engineering drawings
* Solid understanding of tolerances and quality requirements
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Proactive, reliable, and quality-focused approach
Desirable Skills
* Experience with multi-axis machining
* Additional CNC experience, such as turning
* Background in aerospace, motorsport, or other high-tolerance industries
