Job Purpose
The Campsite Operations Manager will be responsible for planning and delivery of onsite camping and glamping operations at various events at Silverstone, including the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Working with the Campsite Manager, the role will create operational efficiencies across all campsites, working with organisers, internal departments and contractors to exceed expectations for all customers, including staff and volunteer campsites.
Key Responsibilities
 * Plan camp and glampsite operations at various events, managing projects from initial concept through to completion.
 * Organise and facilitate all aspects of allocated projects, including site planning, inspections, infrastructure, signage, contingency planning and post‑event evaluation.
 * Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to secure high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective services.
 * Book and manage all temporary facilities and infrastructure, ensuring efficient setup and hand‑back.
 * Own and manage budgets, provide financial reporting and reconcile post‑event budgets.
 * Manage team workload to deliver event administration, including purchase orders and invoices.
 * Understand the impact of campsites on Zone X operations, coordinating security, stewarding, wayfinding and signage.
 * Create operational plans, build‑breakdown schedules, production schedules and event timelines, including accreditation and access‑control coordination.
 * Act as Silverstone’s point of contact for all official and unofficial campsites at events.
 * Collaborate with official campsite operators to maintain safety and operational plans to Silverstone’s high standards.
 * Build relationships with stakeholders to deliver camps and glampsites effectively and efficiently.
 * Assist with procurement of products and services within budget.
 * Work with the Partnerships team to deliver brand partnerships and experiences at camping sites.
 * Liaise with suppliers to capture and share sustainability data for post‑event reporting.
 * Provide health and safety expertise, ensuring contractors adhere to Health and Safety Guidelines and KPI’s, and that all documentation and certificates are complete.
 * Collaborate with the Campsite Manager to brief casual and freelance resources.

 * Ownership and completion of events/projects on time.
 * Effective budget management.

Key Relationships
 * BGP Operations and Public Events teams.
 * All internal departments (finance, marketing, customer services, catering, logistics, venue operations).
 * External third‑party suppliers (traders, contractors, F1 management and customers).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
 * Relevant business or events degree.
 * Motorsport experience beneficial but not essential.
 * Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the events industry, ideally major public events on greenfield or semi‑greenfield sites.
 * Commercial acumen with proven experience managing camp and glampsite projects, including budgets.
 * Experience delivering all event elements from concept through to post‑event evaluation.
 * Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence effectively.
 * Excellent customer service skills.
 * Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure in a small team environment, managing multiple projects.
 * Team player with a "can‑do" attitude.
 * Adaptability and willingness to jump in at the deep end.
 * Attention to detail and planning mindset.
 * Experience with project management systems highly desirable.
 * Strong health and safety awareness – IOSH or similar training preferable.
 * Crowd dynamics qualifications or relevant experience desirable.
 * Essential: Driving licence.
 * Flexible approach to working hours, including evening and weekend work, particularly March – December.
