A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCE ASSITANT AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY In this role you will report to the Assistant Head of Finance What you'll be doing Complete all direct billing ensuring correct backup is attached. Apply all payments in a timely and accurate manner. Chase all outstanding invoices ensuring prompt payment in line with payment terms. Report any issues as they arise to the Assistant Financial Controller. Liaise with all other depts ensuring all teams are aware of issues and work with them to achieve a positive result. Prepare Daily Revenue Report. Process all commission claims, validating all amounts are accurate and correct. Check all credit card refunds and backup. Reconcile F&B and Leisure systems on a daily basis. Report any discrepancies to the Assistant Financial Controller. Process all invoices for payment before month end cut off. Control and issue all PO Numbers as requested ensuring all comply with guidelines issued by Finance and General Manager. Assist with month end process. Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensures associates do the same within the team and hotel. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role of Finance Assistant, you will need the following qualities and skills: Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting. High degree in numerical literacy with attention to details. Good communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and co-workers on different levels. Ability to follow closely processes and procedures. Security and safety in work habits. Flexibility of hours due to period-end requirements. Hotel operations experience preferred but not essential. Opera and symphony experience preferred but not essential. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.
