Associate Structural Design Engineer
RPS is currently seeking an experienced Associate Structural Design Engineer to join our Structures Team.
About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing form and function, sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation enhances our delivery, allowing clients to experience designs from concept through detailed drawings, supported by decades of expertise in engineering, architecture, and development services.
What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression for a Structural Engineer within our reputable industry-leading team. You will oversee projects through their full lifecycle, manage budgets, and lead a team of engineers, reporting to the Director of Structural Engineering.
Duties Include:
* Assist in managing the structural engineering team
* Manage projects independently
* Handle financial responsibilities for your projects
* Prepare fee quotations and invoices
* Manage staff and external consultants
* Develop engineering and technical teams
* Collaborate with stakeholders and clients
* Conduct site visits, structural surveys, investigations, and repairs
Who we’re looking for: You should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally be chartered with ICE or IStructE, or working towards it.
Additionally, you will:
* Have experience with foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures to eurocodes
* Be familiar with residential construction, including traditional and framed structures
* Possess market awareness, financial management skills, and client development experience
* Have experience in structural investigations, including those related to the Building Safety Act
* Be proficient with Tekla (Designer and Tedds) and ideally AutoCAD/Revit
* Demonstrate leadership skills and management experience
* Be decisive, motivated, innovative, and autonomous
