What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Support, coach and advise key stakeholders on all HR issues, including discipline, grievance, absence management and performance improvement
* Assist in devising and implementing colleague communication and engagement strategies at site level
* Deal with Trade Union representatives on all employee related matters on a daily basis and with Full Time Officials as appropriate
* Contribute to the provision of systematic and effective recruitment, selection and induction processes, involving the recruitment team where appropriate
* Co-ordinate and manage the HR activity required to ensure that retention and redeployment activities are executed in line with statutory and company requirements
* Support a reduction in the potential for costly litigation by conducting regular and effective site HR reviews
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* Experience of working in a similar fast-paced HR team, ideally within a logistics or distribution environment, dealing with complex ER cases
* Previous experience of dealing with Trade Union negotiation is highly desirable
* CIPD Level 3 qualified, or working towards
* Experience of undertaking a broad range of tasks including working with and advising line managers on employee relations issues and being involved in setting up processes and systems
* Knowledge of employment law with experience working within a unionised environment is highly desirable
