Reporting to: Director of Food & Beverage
Hours: 40 hours per week (pro‑rate to suit business needs)
Purpose of the role
To assume responsibility for the bar operation at MGC with the objectives of enhancing members and guests experience within the club and maximising profitability.
Duties
* Bar service leadership and daily execution of bar service
* Operational bar service for events and tournaments
* Assist in the operation of the wine program and cocktail offerings
* Assist in planning and departmental organisation
* Assist in hiring, training and development of the team
* Taking ownership of member and guest experience by providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive culture
* Assist with staffing structures that prioritise service consistency and discretion
* Assist with the implementation of bar service standard operating procedures
* Controlling costs and inventory management
* Compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
* Adherence to departmental operating procedures
* Working closely with management to meet revenue objectives
Skills and experience
* Front of house bar experience
* A solid understanding of beverage products
* Experience of working events and functions
* Hands‑on, proactive and happy to lead from the floor
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Able to work evenings, weekends, and busy event days
* Calm under pressure with a positive attitude
