Healthcare Science Support Worker – Echocardiography
Closing date: 16 June 2026. Band 2. Cardio‑Pulmonary Diagnostic Services.
We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Science Support Worker (Echocardiography) to join our busy Echocardiography team. This role is essential to the delivery of a safe, high‑quality cardiac diagnostic service for both inpatients and outpatients.
Responsibilities
The post holder will work under the supervision of registered Cardiac Physiologists and will support the smooth running of echocardiography clinics and inpatient activity. Duties include:
* Preparing patients and equipment, assisting with patient positioning and manual handling.
* Undertaking basic observations, supporting patient dignity and comfort.
* Ensuring clinics operate efficiently, including stock control, equipment checks, data collection and general departmental housekeeping.
* Administrative / clerical tasks, portering, patient manoeuvring and basic patient support as required.
This post is fixed‑term/secondment for 12 months. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Skills
* Knowledge of routine healthcare science duties acquired through job training and induction.
* Level 2 vocational qualification / Basic life support skills / manual handling.
* Relevant experience working in a caring environment.
* Use of hospital IT systems.
* Demonstrated range of communication skills across a range of patients in a compassionate way.
* Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are desirable.
