Project Design Engineer – Electrical

Overview
We joined a new partnership in Northumbrian Water’s new Living Water Enterprise, an innovative vehicle developed to deliver large scale construction programmes in AMP8 and beyond, supporting a £3.6bn workload. This contract will extend the relationship to at least 2030 and see MMB – which harnesses the contracting strength of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald – undertake treatment projects across the North East.
What does a Project Design Engineer – Electrical do day to day?
* Working as part of a “project triangle” alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
* Leading the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from the initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Coordinating the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by each framework and industry specifications.
* Undertaking design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Building positive relationships with the clients’ project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a “one-team” approach.
What you’ll need
* Accredited Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution.
* Experience of outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
* Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
