An established Hotel & Spa known for it's luxurious, intimate setting, situated outside Ipswich, Suffolk, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Banqueting Chef to lead their culinary team in delivering exceptional catering services for a variety of events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and safety, and managing the kitchen operations during banqueting functions. The ideal Banqueting Chef will be personable with excellent communication to liaise directly with clients for weddings and special occasions ensuring a seamless experience and delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise the kitchen team in preparing and presenting banqueting menus, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
* Oversee all aspects of food production, including planning, cooking, and presentation, to meet event specifications
* Manage food safety standards in compliance with health and safety regulations
* Coordinate with event organisers to ensure timely delivery of meals and accommodate special dietary requirements
* Supervise food preparation activities, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and adherence to quality standards
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times
* Assist with menu development and innovation to enhance guest experience
* Ensure proper stock control and minimise waste through effective inventory management
* Consultations with guests
* Supporting the main kitchen when needed
Required Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar role within hospitality or restaurant environments, with a strong background in food production and catering services
* Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities in a busy kitchen setting
* Extensive culinary experience, including cooking, food preparation, and presentation skills
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
* Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
* Previous experience working in a hospitality or banquet setting is highly desirable
* A recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional training is preferred

Salary on offer is £40,000 per annum (with some flexibility depending on experience for the right person) based on 48 hour contract.
