Teaching Assistant

* Working Hours: 30 hours per week, 8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday – Friday (term time plus INSET)

We are excited to offer a position for a Teaching Assistant in partnership with a trust in Torquay. This role is set to start as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year. It is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong background in supporting mixed-ability classes, including pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the educational and social development of pupils in Year 3/4.
* Assist in the preparation and delivery of activities tailored to mixed-ability classes.
* Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Facilitate group and individual learning sessions, adapting to the needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND.
* Participate in professional development and training sessions, including INSET days.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in environments involving SEMH and SEND.
* Excellent understanding of the challenges and educational approaches for pupils with SEMH and SEND.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Patience, resilience, and a commitment to student welfare and development.
