What are we looking for?
Please only apply if you have the following
* A recognised counselling or psychotherapy qualification
* Registration or accreditation with a recognised body (eg, BACP, NCPS,BAAT)
* A minimum of 100 hours of supervised client work (trainee hours count)
* A warm, reflective and empathetic manner
* Able to commit to at least 3 hours of client hours per week
What will you be doing?
What Volunteer Counsellors Will Do
As a Volunteer Counsellor at YESS, you will provide one-to-one counselling sessions to children and young people, and/or adults, offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings.
You will
* Deliver structured counselling sessions in line with ethical and professional standards
* Support clients experiencing a range of emotional and mental health challenges
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records
* Work collaboratively with the wider YESS team to ensure safe and effective support
* Attend supervision sessions and relevant training
* Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Through your empathy, professionalism, and commitment, you will play a vital role in helping individuals build resilience, improve wellbeing, and move towards positive change.
