Job Description:
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of teaching and research/knowledge exchange in forensic psychology at the heart of a dynamic psychology department with a reputation in developing successful, research-led programmes.
You will plan, deliver and assess a range of modules across our growing undergraduate and postgraduate BPS accredited forensic psychology programmes. Using a variety of technologies and approaches you will deliver a vibrant education to your students that can be translated into real-world skills and support them in their journey to become critical-thinking professionals. The ability to contribute to teaching and supervision of student research projects in the area of Forensic Psychology is essential. The ability to teach in additional core areas of the BPS curriculum would be an advantage. You will benefit from membership of the Forensic Psychology Research Group, working with colleagues producing high quality internationally excellent research.
Due to growth in student numbers on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Forensic Psychology, we are seeking one full-time lecturer and one part-time (4 days a week) lecturer. For those working as practicing forensic psychologists, we may consider a job share. Both posts are permanent positions.
The Person
You will hold or have submitted your PhD or doctorate in the field of forensic psychology or hold HCPC registration as a Forensic Psychologist.
On a personal level, delivering exceptional teaching and support to students is your core motivation. You will use your psychology experience to promote integrated professional practice, imparting practical knowledge that students will carry into their careers.
You will seek continuous improvement, scrutinize your work, build professional networks, and collaborate to enhance the faculty’s reputation in higher education and occupational circles.
The Faculty
The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences combines Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences. It is dynamic, innovative, and ambitious, focusing on social challenges such as decision making, sustainable development, and resilience.
Our aim is to nurture socially responsible, well-informed, and engaged members of society who graduate as adaptable, ambitious, and solutions-focused professionals.
Practical experience and real-life learning are central to our degrees, preparing graduates with digital skills, people management, emotional intelligence, and entrepreneurial drive.
