About the Role


In the role of Business Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the compliance, data and business assurance of Peregrine's operations. You will work with all stakeholders across Peregrine to ensure we are compliant with regulation, manage any changes to legislation correctly, audit the business to ensure processes are run as designed, ensuring Business Continuity Plans are robust, tested, and data privacy/protection is managed correctly, with the right reporting and training being implemented across the business.


Responsibilities:


Regulatory Compliance

* Oversee all regulatory compliance, including industry-specific and general regulations.
* Review and improve internal processes to ensure regulatory alignment and compliance.

Strategic Foresight

* Monitor legal and regulatory developments and implement change management programs as needed.
* Communicate regulatory changes to key stakeholders.

Policy Management

* Ensure company policies are proportionate, consistently managed, centrally stored, regularly updated, and aligned with industry and legal developments.

Risk Management

* Manage the risk management framework, supporting the identification, monitoring, and mitigation of risks.

Audit

* Devise and manage an audit program to assess compliance with regulatory, contract, and policy requirements.
* Serve as the principal contact for external audits.

Licensing & Accreditations

* Obtain and maintain necessary licenses and accreditations, ensuring policies align with requirements.

Business Continuity

* Maintain and update the business continuity plan as needed.

Integrity & Complaints

* Coordinate responses to complaints and ensure well-established policies for integrity matters.

Data Protection

* Support the data protection officer with compliance and subject access rights.

Reporting

* Deliver management reporting on audit, risk, and compliance metrics.
* Support client reporting on contractual compliance.

Training

* Develop and deliver training programs on key compliance requirements.

Sales & Procurement

* Support sales with compliance-related procurement questions.
* Ensure compliance-related due diligence in supplier selection.

Supporting Bid Work

* Assist in preparing proposals, bids, and contracts to ensure compliance.
* Collaborate with sales and procurement teams to address compliance-related questions in bid documentation.

Qualifications:

* While the successful candidate is unlikely to have experience across all the aspects of this role, they should:
* Be enthusiastic about taking on new responsibilities outside of their existing comfort zone.
* Have an inquisitive mindset, willing to explore new ways of doing things.
* Take ownership of the compliance and business assurance programme, ensuring that issues are addressed, and opportunities seized.
* Have a calm and reassuring outlook, giving stakeholders the confidence to raise issues and work collaboratively towards a positive outcome.
* Industry experience is desirable, but more important is the experience of building and running a compliance and business assurance function within a professional services environment.

Preferred Skills

* Hybrid and remote work options are available, with some office-based work depending on project or client requirements.
* Regular travel will be required to meet with clients and colleagues.
