We now have a vacancy for a Head of Construction and Operations to join our growing team based at our offices in Wiveliscombe, Somerset.
The purpose of the role is to oversee construction performance, commercial progression, procurement, health and safety, resource management, and broader facilities management with one direct report. Further details below:
Construction
* Designate & lead the turnkey construction division with P&L responsibility.
* Manage quality and profitability through a team of contracts managers, project engineers, operations assistants, and estimators/QS.
* Contribute to the strategic development of the division alongside the Directors.
Project Planning & Coordination
* Schedule construction work, coordinating resources to maintain an efficient schedule.
* Manage preparation of project documentation, including Construction Phase Plans, safety files, RAMS, Building Control notices, etc.
* Oversee job completion paperwork and statutory permissions.
Sub-Contractor Management
* Manage sub-contractor portfolio, including PQQ, competency records, and insurance.
* Schedule and monitor sub-contractor performance.
Health & Safety
* Ensure delivery of health & safety policies and maintain SSIP accreditations.
* Coordinate risk assessments, accident investigations, and maintain safety documentation.
Procurement
* Maintain and update the company Price Book.
* Source prices and manage procurement and inventory for all divisions.
* Develop procurement policies for profitability.
Yard & Warehousing
* Manage stock, organization, waste procedures, and facilities.
Equipment and Tools
* Manage tools and equipment, including calibration, repairs, and policies.
Fleet Maintenance
* Oversee fleet vehicle repairs, replacements, and procurement.
