About The Role
General Practitioner – Out of Hours at Practice Plus Group. This part‑time role works 8 hours per week (one weekday evening 6pm‑10pm and one Saturday 2‑6pm) in the secure health care setting at HMP Lewes, East Sussex.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver first‑class health care to a diverse group of prison patients.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Support the multi‑disciplinary team, including substance misuse nurses and the early days mental health team.
* Take part in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
Support and Development
* Bespoke induction, including Introducing Health in Justice training.
* Competency framework and regional/national career development opportunities.
* Bespoke Learning Management System for learning needs.
* Support from the wider team.
Hours, Salary and Conditions
Part‑time 8 hours per week (1 weekday evening and 1 Saturday). Annual salary up to £134,680 FTE per annum, depending on experience.
Legal and Vetting
Applicants must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Qualifications Required
* MBChB or MBBS.
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
* Experience as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
