Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer (Integration) to work on a high-profile project for the UK MOD. Working within the Combat Air business group, providing exposure to a wide variety of Electronic Warfare (EW) products and subject-matter experts within domain, product, and technology fields. The successful candidate will contribute their knowledge and experience to system integration, test, verification, validation, and trials activities, supporting project milestones. The role requires a strong aptitude for problem solving and managing multiple system interdependencies across Leonardo's business groups.
Due to the nature of our work, you must be capable of achieving a minimum of SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. Please see the UK National Security Vetting site for more details.
This role involves some office-based work, based at Luton.
Responsibilities:
* Work alongside professional engineers in a collaborative environment.
* Manage day-to-day tasks of junior engineers supporting integration activities.
* Develop mentoring and coaching skills.
* Lead subsystem testing and evaluation in a laboratory environment.
* Produce, analyze, and document test data.
* Achieve acceptance/certification from relevant design authorities.
* Provide subsystem functional knowledge for system testing.
* Ensure evidence collection from system-level activities.
* Support the definition and execution of system acceptance test procedures.
* Assist software/hardware teams in developing low-level functionality.
* Engage with customer networks to ensure integration activities meet timelines.
* Support development of system trials strategy.
Candidate Requirements:
* Ability to obtain SC clearance for UK-caveated programs.
* Solid technical foundation, ideally in airborne/EW systems.
* Experience with IV&V activities, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
* Experience with engineering gate reviews and design compliance assessment.
* Capability to handle complex designs and manage uncertainties.
* Experience supporting design and delivery teams for complex solutions.
* Self-motivated with problem-solving skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with military system design and testing standards.
* Experience with Synthetic Environments in engineering solutions.
