The Post / The Candidate
As an integral part of NSS, Programme Management Services (PgMS) is driving change within the NHS. We are a trusted strategic partner for NHS Scotland’s health and social care system, supporting some of the most complex and high-impact programmes across the country.
Our team includes over 180 skilled professionals across a wide range of disciplines, including Project and Programme Management, Business Analysis and Service and User-Centred Design. With deep expertise in designing and delivering complex national programmes, our staff have a proven track record in leading large-scale transformational change across NHSScotland. We are expanding our Project Support Officer cohort and are looking for motivated professionals to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting high-impact projects that are critical to the ongoing improvement of health services across Scotland.
We are looking for individuals who are:

Key responsibilities
* Supporting the coordination of all phases of project delivery
* Managing documentation, plans, and reporting to ensure successful project outcomes
* Stakeholder engagement
* Maintaining high-quality standards while meeting tight deadlines
* Contributing to the smooth operation of a busy project office
You will bring
* Recent experience of working in a project office or project support environment
* A proven track record of success in project coordination or business support
* A proactive approach to workload management and problem-solving
* An understanding of project management principles and practices
* A desire to progress in delivering successful change management

Location and Working Pattern
Successful candidates will be based in Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Currently operating in a hybrid working model, with an increasing expectation to attend the office and customer sites on a regular basis. Our current working hours are 37 hours, which will reduce to 36 hours from 1st April 2026. Our working pattern is Monday through Friday and we operate a flexible working policy. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
