This role works over a 5 week rota consisting of day and evening shifts. Day 8am-3pm. Evening 3pm - 10pm then sleep (sleep in rate £40) 7am-8am if woken hourly rate is paid. Our court is 24 hour managed which is covered by 5 duty managers.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
· Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day work while on duty, in particular, supervision of the team of Housekeeping Assistants who provide domestic help to Owners.
· To provide assistance to Owners in an emergency.
· An understanding of the needs of older people to ensure continued independence and an optimum quality of life for all Owners. The Duty Manager is very much the "head of staff" and is expected to use imagination, skill and sensitivity to identify problems before they occur and take steps to avoid them (taking a pro-active rather than re-active role in the management and development of the Court).
· To deliver excellent customer service to all Owners and 'customers' in line with company standards providing a positive 'can do' attitude at all times.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervision and deployment of Housekeeping Assistants in accordance with the authorised budget.
· Reviewing performance of staff through 1:2:1 supervision and annual appraisal
· Liaison with contracted services such as gardeners, window cleaners and general maintenance contractors.
· Promote and encourage the Court's catering facilities ensuring that high standards of service, presentation and value for money are always maintained.
· Act as host/hostess in the dining room for all meals served and to eat with the Owners
· Facilitating social events and activities that the Owners wish to organise (using imagination and initiative).
· Keeping accounts of payments received and expenditure incurred (ensuring that all money payable for services provided is received and properly accounted for).
· Efficient administration in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
· Assisting and facilitating the re-sale of vacant properties.
· Resolution of the problems of individual Owners.
· Liaison with health care professionals such as community nurses, community psychiatric nurses, chiropodists, Social Services and GP's.
· Day-to-day responsibility for a particular area of work, e.g. catering, rotas, time sheets, invoicing and cash administration, health & safety, staff training etc. under the supervision of the Manager.
· Ensuring appropriate relationships between staff and Owners are maintained.
· Providing excellent customer service to all Owners and 'customers' in line with company standards and provide a positive 'can do' attitude at all times.

* To take responsibility for own personal development and training (mandatory & professional) in line with the needs of the business and annual performance objectives
* To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected.
