Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter /assistant to join our dynamic kitchen team On week ends. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field, whether in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Support chefs during meal service by preparing ingredients and ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
* Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
* Assist in the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation.
* Help with cleaning duties at the end of each shift to maintain hygiene standards.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary work is key.
* Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills are advantageous.
