FJA are recruiting for an experienced Environmental Manager on behalf of a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor. This is a full‑time, permanent role based in either Kearsley or Leeds, with travel across project sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified environmental professional to lead environmental strategy, compliance and carbon management across a varied and growing project portfolio. About the role: You will act as the company’s technical lead for environmental compliance, sustainability and decarbonisation, maintaining ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and PAS 2080 standards while driving continual improvement across the business. Key responsibilities: * Lead and develop environmental culture across all project types * Act as Lead for ISO 14001 and support the wider Integrated Management System * Oversee ISO 50001 and identify energy efficiencies across fleet, plant and fixed assets * Lead PAS 2080 compliance and embed carbon management throughout project lifecycles * Provide guidance on emerging technologies (EV, hydrogen, BESS) * Lead environmental incident investigations and share lessons learned * Develop strategies for pollution prevention, waste minimisation and operational risk * Act as main point of contact for clients, regulators and auditors * Support bids with environmental input and carbon reduction statements What we’re looking for: * IEMA Practitioner or Full Member * 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure * ISO 14001 Lead Auditor * Strong knowledge of PAS 2080, carbon management and energy reporting * Confident communicator able to influence at all levels * Passionate about sustainability and environmental protection Why apply? * Join a forward‑thinking organisation committed to sustainability * Lead environmental strategy during a period of growth and innovation * Work across diverse projects including green energy and emerging technologies * Strong opportunities for development and long‑term progression If you’re an experienced Environmental Manager looking to make a real impact, please apply now with your updated CV.
