Astute's Power Team is seeking an EC and I (Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation) Technician to join a large, brand-new Energy from Waste Power Station in Bedfordshire.
The facility, now fully operational, disposes of over 545,000 tonnes of residual waste annually and generates more than 60 megawatts of low-carbon energy, enough to power over 112,500 homes.
The successful candidate will support the EC and I Team Leader in performing both pre-planned and reactive maintenance of all EC and I assets on site.
Responsibilities and duties of the EC and I Technician include:
1. Performing maintenance duties on electrical, controls, and instrumentation assets across the power station.
2. Fault finding and maintaining electrical systems such as motors, drives, switchgear, and high/low voltage equipment, as well as instrumentation like pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors, and control systems.
3. Calibrating instrumentation.
4. Conducting continuous improvement activities, plant modifications, and design work.
5. Supervising third-party contractors.
6. Working in accordance with maintenance techniques and best practices.
7. Assisting in plant developments and projects.
