We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer withextensive experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole(TH) assembly to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate willbe responsible for maintaining and optimising all aspects of electronicassembly processes, ensuring high-quality, repeatable production. They willwork closely with the Quality Manager, Operations Manager and ManagingDirector to develop and document new processes, improve efficiency, upholdquality standards, and train production operatives in best practices.
Person Overview
The person required for this role must have good hands‑onexperience in all aspects of electronic assembly. However, a major focus of therole relates to process development, management and quality management. Theymust therefore have excellent knowledge and experience of working to specificindustry standards (for example IPC-A-610) but also of wider manufacturingquality management standards and processes (ISO-9001, L6S etc.). They must beable to manage a team to be greater than the sum of its parts, taking peoplewith them and developing their abilities as part of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
* SMT& TH Process Ownership
* Ensureset up, operation, and optimisation of pick-and-place machines, reflowovens, wave solder, and selective soldering equipmentis carried out to high standard up to and including IPC-A-610 Class 3.
* Ensureset up, operation, and optimisation of coating and conformal coatingsystems, ensuring consistent finish quality and adherence to customerspecifications and IPC-A-610 Class 3.
* Whereissues occur, lead troubleshooting of setup, equipment and process issuesto minimise downtime and defects.
* ProcessDevelopment & Standardisation
* Developand document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for allproduction equipment and specific processes. Where necessary, tailorspecific SOPs for specific products.
* Continuouslyrefine manufacturing processes to improve throughput, yield, and quality.
* Conductprocess capability studies and implement corrective actions where needed.
* Training& Support
* Deliverhands-on training to production staff in machine operation, inspectionstandards, and process discipline.
* Createand maintain visual work instructions and training materials.
* Supporta culture of continuous improvement and accountability on the productionfloor.
* Collaboratewith the Manufacturing Team to ensure production meets internal andexternal quality standards (e.g., IPC).
* Workwith Quality Manager to analyse defects, identify root causes, and leadcorrective/preventive actions. Support with appropriate documentationand/or feedback to ensure ISO-9001 compliance.
* Contributeto lean manufacturing initiatives and equipment layout optimisation.
* Liaisewith design, procurement, and management teams to ensuremanufacturability of new products.
* Workdirectly with the Managing Director and Operations Manager on improvingproductivity, scaling production capacity and introducing newtechnologies.
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum5 years’ experience in SMT and through-hole electronicsmanufacturing.
* Provenexpertise with:
* Pick-and-placemachines (Samsung / Hanwha a major advantage.)
* Wavesoldering and selective soldering systems
* Conformalcoating equipment and process control
* Strongunderstanding of IPC standards and ESD handling requirements.
* Abilityto write and maintain clear process documentation.
* Confidentin training and supervising production operatives.
* Strongproblem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Proficientwith data-driven process analysis and continuous improvementmethods.
* Experiencewith AOI, X-ray, or test systems.
* Knowledgeof Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma principles.
* Backgroundin small to medium-batch electronic production environments.
