Housing Manager - Covering East and South Birmingham Permanent Grade D - £45,091 – £51,356 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week We are looking for someone with great management and leadership skills to join the estate services team and support the improvement of services to our tenants and leaseholders. A key responsibility of the role is working closely and constructively with colleagues across City Housing, the wider council, partners, contractors, external stakeholders, and tenants/leaseholders. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is committed, motivational, enthusiastic, and dynamic to develop and improve our estate-based services to our tenants and leaseholders. Leading on service improvement across the city is a fundamental driver for success in this role linked to the framework set out in the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023. The role will include a range of responsibilities with the management of a large flexibly deployed team based at multiple sites across the city being a priority. You will also need experience managing financial and physical resources and developing service improvements that enhance estate-based services. This is a great opportunity to have a real influence on a high-profile front-line service. There will be opportunities for personal growth and development, training for the role will be provided. This is part of a public facing service within housing management, and you will have a strong desire to provide a first-class customer experience which will include identifying and delivering service improvements. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be working in and around neighbourhoods interacting with tenants/leaseholders and estate-based teams. Requirements of the role include: Experience of successfully identifying and implementing service improvements Leadership skills that get the best out of colleagues Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively Influencing, advocacy and negotiation skills Self-awareness, empathy, respect, and integrity Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities The roles will be remotely based, working with the estate-based teams covering a geographical patch in Birmingham, however there will be a need for flexibility to cover other areas upon request.
