Are you passionate about driving strategy, engaging stakeholders and making a real impact within local government? Were looking for a dynamic and analytical individual to join our team and play a key role in supporting corporate strategy and engagement across the Council.
In this varied role, youll help ensure our organisation remains aligned with both local priorities and national policy developments. You will also help us deliver our ambitious Council Plan and make sure we effectively engage with our communities on key issues.
You will provide specialist corporate support across policy, strategy, and consultation, supporting colleagues to deliver high quality work while also assisting the organisation to deliver on behalf of our resident and businesses.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the delivery of business planning and the performance management framework in collaboration with Publica colleagues
* Managing the Councils online consultation and engagement platform, and advising teams on best practice
* Reviewing and maintaining Council policies and strategies to ensure they remain current and effective
* Tracking and analysing national policy developments to inform local decision-making
* Supporting the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and Devolution programme through project support, data analysis, and strategy/policy review
* Monitoring progress against the Council Plan, including producing bi-annual performance reports

You will need
* A qualification in your area of expertise, equivalent to a degree or relevant experience of five years in policy, strategy or performance management
* Experience of working flexibly as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders
* Ability to resolve complex issues by negotiation
* Deliver commitments and take ownership of own caseload, reshaping of plans to deliver required outcomes
* Ability to process and analyse data then interpret it for others
