With a collaborative culture and a focus on operational excellence, the firm is now looking to appoint an experienced Resource Manager to join its Central Operations function. The Opportunity This is a senior operational role within the Central Operations team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with Heads of Department across the legal practices. The Resource Manager will play a critical role in overseeing financial, operational, and compliance functions to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the legal departments while supporting strategic growth. Key responsibilities include: Managing and approving expense claims in line with firm policySupporting monthly forecasting, revenue monitoring, and annual budgeting processesReviewing departmental overheads and performance against budgetsEnsuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (including SRA, AML, Lexcel, CQS, and ISO 27001) and supporting audits and policy reviewsOverseeing day-to-day operational processes in collaboration with Business Support teamsImproving efficiency through centralised and standardised proceduresSetting department and team structures and organising weekly capacity and partner meetingsMonitoring matter statuses and ensuring timely updatesApproving access to departmental mailboxes and holiday requestsSupporting performance management through data analysis and KPI monitoringHandling operational issues, staff concerns, and complaints where requiredSupporting recruitment planning for trainees, apprentices, and NQsManaging training programmes to ensure consistent understanding of firm-wide metrics and processesCo-ordinating partner onboarding and offboarding, including client and matter transitionsActing as a key liaison between legal departments and Finance, Risk, IT, and other support teamsSupporting the implementation of new IT systems and platforms Requirements Proven experience leading teams within a professional services environment, ideally within a law firmStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsCommercially minded, highly organised, and detail-orientedExperience with financial and document management systems (Elite 3E, iManage or NetDocs preferred)Confident user of Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems Vacancy Highlights Permanent, full-time roleSalary starting from £80,000 depending on experienceLondon-based positionMonday to Friday, 9.30am-5.30pm (with flexibility for additional hours when required)Senior, high-impact role with exposure to firm-wide strategy and leadership Birchrose Associates, trading name of Huntress Search Ltd, acts as a Recruitment Agency in relation to all Permanent roles and as a Recruitment Business in relation to all Temporary roles.
