Would you like a career like no other? If so… Join Us

South Wales Police brings together thousands of people with the same aim – to prevent and detect crime; protect, serve and reassure our communities; and provide a first-class service to victims.

We want to be an outstanding police service: accessible, reliable and trusted by our communities. To do this we need the very best candidates from a wide range of backgrounds to apply to become part of our policing family.

We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Crime Integrity Team (CIT) Supervisor in our Public Service Centre. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the role and your key responsibilities:

The role is part-time and based at the Public Service Centre, South Wales Police Headquarters, Bridgend. However, the role is flexible and can include working from home.

The Crime Integrity Team ensures that all reported crimes within the force area are recorded correctly, and the appropriate outcome applied

The role includes:

* The Supervision of a team in the delivery of the comprehensive, consistent and accurate recording of crime and incidents, in line with the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS), the National Standard of Incident Recording (NSIR), and the Home Office Counting Rules for both standards (HOCR's).
* Responsibility for a team, ensuring their wellbeing, performance and development is managed effectively.
* Effective planning of resources and allocation of work.
* Providing advice and feedback to internal and external partners.
* Audit the work of CITstaff and identify individual or team learning and development needs.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

Although a full and comprehensive training package will be provided, including systems and processes, the skills and experience required are outlined in the Role Profile and will need to be evidenced in your application. Skills include:

* Previous supervisory experience and leadership skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to plan and prioritise daily workloads, and work under pressure
* Must have experience of preparing management reports/documentation

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV level.

Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Please Note - Medical Checks - Applicants will be invited to complete a medical questionnaire which may be discussed to identify any issues which may prevent appointment because of a risk to the applicant or anyone using the service of South Wales Police. In addition, a hearing test will be completed for the purpose of health surveillance.

There are numerous benefits to working for South Wales Police, from learning and development opportunities to schemes which aim to improve your lifestyle and wellbeing, as well as generous Local Government Pension Scheme / Police Pension Schemes, paid annual leave, flexible working and family friendly policies and many more.

If you would like any more information about the role, please Inspector Richard Williams (email address: Richard.-).
