Overview
MishMash Music seeks three new trustees to join the board. A background in classical music is not required; we are looking for individuals willing to support this exciting charity.
What difference will you make?
The trustees play an integral role in steering the charity towards its strategic mission to transform perceptions of classical music and to help the organisation grow, adapt and improve.
What are we looking for?
* The Board supports the work of MishMash Productions and provides leadership and strategic governance.
* Day-to-day operations are led by the Artistic and Executive Director; the Board–Senior Leadership relationship is a partnership, and appropriate involvement of the Board is critical and expected.
* We are looking for individuals who share a passion for live music and inclusive practice.
* Be an advocate and ambassador; be present and participate; bring your expertise; give your time.
* Trustee duties include contributing to, reviewing and updating charity policies and the strategic plan; monitoring compliance with statutory and government regulations; acting as an ambassador for the charity’s mission; taking a lead role with a sub-group; supporting fundraising and networking with potential donors and partners.
* Attend quarterly board meetings and any emergency meetings; participate in charity activities and events throughout the year.
* Estimated time commitment: approximately 10 hours per month.
* The position is voluntary; no remuneration is provided, but reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.
What will you be doing?
MishMash Music exists to reimagine classical music for young people and families—making it inclusive, engaging, and relevant. Following the transition to charitable status in April 2025, we are recruiting up to three new trustees to join the board. We are particularly seeking individuals with strategic leadership and financial experience to fill roles as Chair and Deputy Chair and to provide additional expertise in financial management. First-hand experience of classical music is not essential. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from underrepresented groups, principally those from global majority ethnicities and identities, Disabled, LGBTQIA+, and those facing social barriers to accessing the arts.
