About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled assembly and test technicians, supporting the delivery of high-quality products while continuously improving production processes. In this role, you’ll contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment while helping to drive productivity and innovation.
Based within our UK Manufacturing team, this position sits in an ambitious, fast-growing international company that values inclusion, teamwork, and continuous development. You’ll oversee the assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing of opto/electro/mechanical instruments, ensuring products are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timelines.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Lead team via DLA boards (daily layered accountability through daily team stand-ups
2. Deliver in full agreed production schedules
3. Monitoring of all aspects of manufacturing production, recommending, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives leading to product cost reductions in both parts and labour.
4. Fully embed our Lean Operating Model (LOM) into the ‘backbone’ of operations daily life
5. Continuous analysis of current production processes and procedures, proposals for improvements, implementation and follow through of agreed upon changes.
About you:
6. You bring a positive, proactive approach to challenges and lead by example in how you work and support others
7. A solid foundational education underpins your practical and problem-solving skills
8. You have experience working with lean manufacturing principles in a production environment
9. You demonstrate strong general engineering knowledge across mechanical, electronic, and electrical disciplines
10. You have experience leading or supporting production teams, helping to create an inclusive and high-performing environment
11. Experience with the assembly and testing of light optical, electronic, or mechanical instruments
12. A mindset that embraces challenges and continuous improvement
