We are currently recruiting for an ambitious, passionate, and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our well-established team at Queenswood School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous experience within an SEN school, or qualified Teacher looking to take the next step in their career.

Queenswood School is set across two sites in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire. The successful candidate will be based at our Yarkhill site. We are an Independent Specialist day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 11 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum or have SEMH.

As an Assistant Headteacher you will need to:

10. Have successful teaching experience and hold UK QTS
11. Be an Autism Specialist that is able to assist in developing and implementing the schools vision, values, ethos and curriculum
12. Have a proven track record with leading and managing staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of a school site
13. Quality assuring that personalised learning approaches are embedded by adapting teaching strategies where appropriate to get the best outcomes for our pupils
14. Mentor, train and support staff through appropriate staff development and Continued Professional Development (CPD) opportunities
15. Promote mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the school whilst promoting an inclusive and supportive environment.
16. Ensure parental and community engagement by building strong relationships with parents/carers and offering support and guidance
17. Assist in the whole school administrative and compliance processes relevant to aspects such as the Aspris Quality Assurance Standards (AQAS), Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and Independent School Standards (ISS)
18. Be an outstanding creative practitioner with a genuine interest in cognitive behaviour and learning development in students with a diagnosis of ASD
19. Show enthusiasm and eagerness to progress
20. Have a detailed knowledge of teaching and learning and an ability to move the practice of others forward
21. Demonstrate effective communication skills to connect successfully with parents and the wider community
