Training Adviser position at Pembrokeshire County Council. Fixed term to 31/03/2026 (annual extension subject to funding from Welsh Government).
Futureworks delivers skills and employment programmes in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. We are recruiting a Training Adviser to deliver the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme and support work with Schools. The role includes delivering qualifications in wellbeing, life skills and employability.
Responsibilities
* Deliver learning sessions mostly with learners aged 14-19 years, creating an empowering, non-judgemental, positive and welcoming atmosphere that supports self-determination and helps learners make plans and take responsibility.
* Support young people to overcome barriers to learning and access opportunities, giving them a fresh start and encouraging them to see life differently.
* Work with some vulnerable young people facing social, domestic and emotional issues; be emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient to positively challenge learner attitudes and behaviours.
* Recruit and retain young people on the programme and achieve positive outcomes into work, further learning and volunteering.
Ideal/Required Qualifications and Skills
* Experience delivering learning and positive interventions to NEETs or those at risk of dropping out of education.
* Experience managing challenging behaviours.
* Ability to think on your feet, adapt to various situations, and be engaging, learner-centred and an excellent communicator.
* Ability to deliver tailored interventions and creative schemes of work; write lesson plans, report on learner progress and assess risk.
* Ability to work effectively with employers and industry to progress young people into work placements and employment.
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills to ensure compliance with contractual documentation and delivery against contracts.
* Hold or work towards a teaching qualification and assessors award.
* Strong commitment to safeguarding and PREVENT.
* Willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council as a Work-based Learning Practitioner.
