Culture and Heritage Officer - Donegall Pass Community Enterprises, DPCE Charity Jobs NI (Part of the Happy Jobs Group) is delighted to be exclusively partnering with Donegall Pass Community Enterprises, to recruit a creative, organised, and passionate Culture and Heritage Officer. This exciting role provides an opportunity to lead impactful initiatives celebrating the rich cultural heritage and history of Donegall Pass and surrounding South Belfast communities. About Donegall Pass Community Enterprises: Established in 2017, DPCE is committed to transforming local lives by creating safe, inclusive, and sustainable urban communities. Driven by core values of transparency, inclusivity, innovation, leadership, and collaboration, DPCE actively engages with diverse stakeholders to enhance the social, economic, and physical capacities of inner-city Belfast. Through proactive community-led approaches, DPCE aims to reimagine spaces, build partnerships, empower people, and celebrate heritage to create a vibrant, thriving area open to all. About the Role: Reporting to the Capital Project Coordinator, the Culture and Heritage Officer will lead community-driven projects aimed at preserving, promoting, and celebrating local heritage. You will facilitate engagement through events, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and archival research, bringing communities together around shared histories and stories. Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Delivery: Recruit participants, develop, coordinate and deliver community heritage projects, manage events (exhibitions, festivals, workshops), and maintain cultural archives. Community Engagement: Foster meaningful relationships with residents, artists, historians, and community groups, promoting inclusive participation and cultural understanding. Communication & Marketing: Raise awareness through social media, develop promotional materials, liaise with local media, and represent DPCE at forums and committees. Administration & Reporting: Manage budgets, project plans, risk assessments, funding applications, and complete comprehensive reports and project evaluations. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Minimum 3 years' experience in education, community development, or youth work OR a relevant third-level qualification in these fields. Demonstrable skills in group facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and project management including budgeting and reporting. Proven ability in securing and managing funding. Experience in marketing and social media communications. Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desirable: Knowledge and passion for local culture and heritage. Experience conducting research and analysis. Personal Attributes: Creative, proactive, detail-oriented, culturally sensitive, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and comfortable managing multiple priorities effectively. Location: Donegall Pass, Belfast (Hybrid working supported) Salary: £27,711 - £30,060 per annum (NJC Scale Points 12-17, dependent on experience). Salary is subject to funding. Contract Type: Fixed-term until March 2027 (potential for extension subject to funding) Benefits: ? 25 days annual leave plus 12 public holidays. ? Hybrid working arrangements, offering flexibility between home and office-based work where appropriate. ? Flexible working arrangements (evening/weekend work occasionally required).
