Job Advert

As part of Falkirk’s Community Learning and Development Adult Learning Service we are looking for 3 innovative, creative, Community Learning and Development Support Workers who can inspire and motivate a diverse range of adult learners.

CLD is a targeted service and works with individuals and groups offering literacy, numeracy and digital learning opportunities for people who want to make positive changes in their personal lives and communities. The adult learning service has two strands: one being to increase learners’ confidence to apply their learning to everyday situations, at home, at work and with their families; and the other to support learners who wish to continue on an employability journey to develop their skills further.

Working as part of a team, you will plan, develop and deliver a range of practical community-based adult learning programmes for seldom heard adults in line with identified need and national priorities.

Your programmes will focus on developing learners’ confidence, recognising their achievements and offering accreditation as appropriate.

You will support learners to develop an individual learning plan and record their progress with them.

Successful candidates will practice a person-centred approach, be well organised and confident to engage with communities at all levels.

Experience of delivering SQA qualifications and/or Adult Achievement Awards would be an advantage although training would be provided.

This exciting role is both rewarding and challenging and requires someone who is driven and motivated to influence change with a focus on:

1. Improved life chances for people of all ages, through learning, personal development and active citizenship.
2. Stronger, more resilient, supportive, influential, and inclusive communities.

It is expected that you will:

3. have relevant experience, knowledge and skills and / or a relevant qualification in Community Learning and Development. This should include experience of adult learning, youth work or community development.
4. be an associate member or working towards membership of the Community Learning and Development Standards Council.
5. gain or maintain PVG membership for working with vulnerable children and adults.

These posts are temporary until March. Please note that applications for job share will be considered for these posts.
