Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Assistant to join the Corporate Procurement team within the Chief Executive’s Department. This role supports the procurement of goods, services, and works across the council and the wider Glasgow family, contributing to the delivery of efficient and compliant procurement processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of procurement briefs and specifications, advising stakeholders on evaluation criteria and commercial models in line with Scottish Government guidance, and delivering procurement projects through appropriate routes including Mini Competitions, Direct Awards, and Quick Quotes. The role also involves ensuring compliance with the Corporate Procurement Manual and relevant legislation, managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the development of procurement briefs and specifications.
* Advising stakeholders on evaluation criteria and commercial models in line with Scottish Government guidance.
* Delivering procurement projects through routes including Mini Competitions, Direct Awards, and Quick Quotes.
* Ensuring compliance with the Corporate Procurement Manual and relevant legislation.
* Managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
* Maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Qualifications
* Experience in procurement or supplier liaison.
* Strong IT and organisational skills.
* Ability to interpret public sector procurement regulations.
* CIPS Level 4 Diploma or equivalent qualification or experience is desirable.
* Familiarity with eProcurement systems such as PCS or PCS-T.
* Experience in public sector procurement is preferred, although training will be provided.
* Hybrid working arrangements.
