Job Title: Night Support Worker (Children)Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team, providing essential care and support to children in a nurturing and compassionate environment. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being and development of children in our care.
Your Responsibilities:
* Foster a culture that places children at the center of all that we do, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
* Provide high-quality care and support tailored to the individual needs of each child.
* Assist in the assessment and implementation of individual care plans and risk assessments.
* Support children in their daily routines, including mealtimes, recreational activities, life skills, appointments, and education.
* Build positive and trusting relationships with children, their families, and external professionals, maintaining effective communication.
* Administer and record medication as required, following appropriate guidelines and protocols.
* Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages the growth and development of children.
* Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings.
* Work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
* Undertake sleep-in duties as part of the rota system, ensuring children are supported during the night if needed.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a residential care setting.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
* Relevant qualifications in social care or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Children and Young People or equivalent).
* Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins, as per shift patterns.
* Commitment to working shifts, including weekends, nights, and bank holidays, on a rota basis.
Please Note:
This is a full-time role, and the service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Shifts include days, evenings, nights, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays. The role is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
