Criminal Duty Solicitor
The Role
As a Duty Solicitor, you will advise clients under investigation, prepare and progress criminal cases, and provide robust advocacy in court. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements, and delivering a high standard of client care.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and committed solicitor with:
· A current Practising Certificate.
· Duty Solicitor status (or eligibility) via CLAS accreditation.
· Strong knowledge of criminal law, procedure, and evidence.
· Experience advising at police stations and representing in magistrates' courts.
· Excellent advocacy, communication, and client care skills.
· The ability to manage a demanding caseload under pressure.
· A full UK driving licence.
· Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal), supervisory experience, and knowledge of LAA compliance would be an advantage but are not essential.
