Overview

About The Role

This is a full-time role working either day or night shifts from 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am - 44 hours per week. Full flexibility is required.

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to our residents by planning and implementing care that gives them security, dignity and independence, and by delivering truly personalised care plans.

You will lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care, influencing the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you will do so with kindness above all.

You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication. You will maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.

Ideally, you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, along with a background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy and your ability to get along with people, effective record-keeping, and a patient, caring communication style.

About HC-One

At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so we can support them to lead their best possible life.

To provide the kindest possible care there are 5 qualities that everyone who is part of the HC-One team shows up with, supports and coaches in each other every day: Kindness the HC-One Way. We are curious, compassionate, creative yet practical, courageous in how we support residents to live the life they want, and we can always be counted on.

We champion inclusivity, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves. Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to learn from each other and better represent the communities we serve.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You will also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.

Benefits and Support

We’ll provide full training, so it’s a great opportunity to learn something new. You will enjoy a wide range of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being, and we will invest in you throughout your career as a Senior Care Assistant. Benefits include:

* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Hourly rate is subject to experience and qualifications
* Free uniform
* During a shift of eight hours or more a nutritious meal will be available
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
